Chatty Christopher

I've often noticed that my family, roomates and husband have no interest in talking until much later in the day than I do, and yes, I finally realized that you all do not want to be greeted with a stream of questions first thing in the morning, you know sometime last year. I'm getting a taste of my own medicine these days. Christopher has been extremely talkative these days. Our mornings usually start with Christopher asking to come into our room around 6:15 am. He will snuggle for about 5 minutes and the questions start. "mommy, do we need to go get the paper? Do you think it is here yet? I'll go check." Christopher then crawls over me to go to the window to look for the paper. Should it be Wesnesday, watch out. We get two papers that day. Jackpot! Wait for it..."mommy, there are two newspapers!!! Let's go get them. Daddy, you need to read the paper now?" after receiving no positive response, "I will go get the paper for you Daddy. You need to read your paper now. Mommy, you come too. We need to make coffee." That brings us to 6:25 am, and I reluctantly crawl out of bed to prevent my 2-year-old from leaving the house unattended because by now he is downstairs with the front door open stepping out to get the paper. The rapid fire questions continue until around 11 am when he starts moving into the midday need to eat mass quantities and rest up for the afternoon session which lasts from 3 pm until 7 pm. I was not so conscious of the afternoon session until our drive home from Minneapolis when Christopher chatted for four hours nonstop. And in case you were wondering, his favorite question is, "Why?"
