Train Time

The boys love trains. It fund to see them enjoy something together. Christopher thinks the bridge is the best part. I think Daniel is more a fan of going around in circles. I'm working on my speed building skills because the boys have the train set in pieces many times each day. It's hard to find an hour of quality play that they both enjoy, so I'll just keep building until the little guy's coordination develops a bit more. Those tall towers are a bit tippy.

StarWars Pancakes!

We busted out our StarWars pancake molds this weekend. It was definitely a fun winter activity. The kids were happy because the pancakes were at least triple their usual size. Matt was so happy to have a little StarWars on his plate. Matt was really excited about this breakfast. He even took pictures.

Yummy Yoda!

Christopher loving a bite of Storm Trooper.

Daniel polishing off the last bit of Yoda.
Dum, dum, dum, da da, dum, da da, dum.

Daniel Thomas Starwars Beeko Lee All Cooped Up

Winter is starting to get long for the boys. They have been spending their days trying to climb and jump on anything in sight. Daniel is relatively coordinated with climbing and jumping now, but Christopher is still learning. The two of them together is rather scary at times. I'm amazed at what Christopher can already do, and I hate to admit it, but I can't wait for him to master going over the arm of the couch. Headfirst is no way to go.

We had a bit of a warm up this week, and nearly all the snow on the deck is melted. We actually got to play on the porch this week. It was so nice to have a new space to play in for the boys.

Daniel has been telling us some really fun stories these days. Presently, we are discussing all the presidents on his president placemat. Matt is particularly good at this game as he knows all the presidents, birth dates, death dates, cause of death, and favorite foods. Ok, exaggerating on the favorite foods. Daniel can point at a place on the mat and Matt knows what he is pointing at without even looking. I, on the other hand, have to secretly look to see who Daniel is pointing at without him knowing. I think he is starting to call them "Presidents" instead of "Indians" which is what they have been called for the past month or so. I'm not sure where that came from. Daniel is quite familiar with George Washington because that is where his milk goes, and Ronald Reagan because he is Matt's favorite.

Daniel has also adopted a new name for himself. It's Daniel Thomas Starwars Beeko Lee. Apparently Matt called himself Matthew Daniel Starwars Beeko Lee for many years as a child, and Daniel has adopted the name with the encouragement of Boppa. It's pretty hilarious to hear him correct me with his name. "No Mommy, it's Daniel Thomas Starwars Beeko Lee." We have not come up with a Christohper equivalent. I'm thinking Chris-bo Karabekin could be a candidate. I was Ra-bo Karabekin for many years. Suggestions are welcome.

Snow Day

I had to rename the last post since we made it out for some true snow pictures. The boys seemed to enjoy the adventure. It was perfectly sunny outside for our tour. I wanted to take some pictures of the house, so I decided to give Daniel a piggy back ride around the house. The snow was much too deep for him to lift his legs in. I probably should have used our sled because I fell at least a couple times. Thankfully, two feet of snow makes falls really easy and fun. Not far to fall and a soft landing, but let me tell you, it was work hauling Daniel around the yard. Some of the drifts were so deep, I was starting to worry how we were going to get out when it gets over the knees things get difficult.
All bundled up to go see the neighbor's snow fort.

On snow days, you can walk in the street without a grownup.

The fort was quite impressive. TV, multiple gaming systems, lights, chairs, and it was warm!

We are loving the snow today!

Daniel got stuck on the deck.

Amazing wind art.

Spooky adirondak.

That's how deep the snow in the yard was!

Catching Up

Today we are home because of the huge amount of snow we got last night. The drifts on our deck are almost up to the windows on the porch. That is almost waist high. Our driveway is clear for now. Our wonderful neighbor came over and plowed the deep parts. Our little blower was not going to get the job done. Here are some recent pictures. Lots of indoor play these days. It's been quite cold and snowy. Daniel is certainly enjoying it more this year than in years past. Christopher is still pretty confused about the whole thing and is uncomfortable about the unsure footing.
Christopher is a big fan of Thomas these days.

He loves pushing little cars and trains. Such a boy!

Complete with sounds.

So cute!

Riding Cheesebiscuit together. This is the best I could do on the picture. Two moving kids on a moving object is a tricky stage.

Brotherly love.

Daniel was really sad to hear that school was canceled today. He wore this face for about five minutes after I told him. He loves school.

Christopher, on the other hand, was thrilled. Look at all the snow in background!
