Yoga Bomb the Backyard
Daniel wanted to take some pictures of me doing yoga. I thought it was a great idea ;) since I'm all about yoga these days. Strange doing it in shoes, but that's ok. The boys got in on the action, too. Since I've been accused of never putting pictures of me on the blog, I decided to share some of Daniel's pics with you today. My yoga studio, Dragonfly Hot Yoga, has a yoga bomb contest. Do you think any of these are contest quality? The angle and cropping could be improved, but I guess that's the risk of 4-year-old photographers. I'm enjoying some quiet time while Christopher rests and Daniel attempts to be relaxed in his room. Hence the double post today. I can feel a slight breeze coming through the house and hear the birds chirping. Lovely, lovely right now. After our much needed rain earlier this week, the heat has dissipated and everything is so green again. Ahhh.

Water, Water Everywhere
Despite the local drought, our summer has been very wet. The boys love water and turn every occasion into an all out soaking. Time to water the yard, ok we can help. Between the swimming lessons four days a week, the pool and boat on the weekends, and the extreme need to water the pots, trees, garden, and grass. Here are some recent pics of our wet fun.
Ok, dry for now. |
Another dry activity, walking to the pedestrian bridge. Great way to kill two hours. |

Chatty Christopher
I've often noticed that my family, roomates and husband have no interest in talking until much later in the day than I do, and yes, I finally realized that you all do not want to be greeted with a stream of questions first thing in the morning, you know sometime last year. I'm getting a taste of my own medicine these days. Christopher has been extremely talkative these days. Our mornings usually start with Christopher asking to come into our room around 6:15 am. He will snuggle for about 5 minutes and the questions start. "mommy, do we need to go get the paper? Do you think it is here yet? I'll go check." Christopher then crawls over me to go to the window to look for the paper. Should it be Wesnesday, watch out. We get two papers that day. Jackpot! Wait for it..."mommy, there are two newspapers!!! Let's go get them. Daddy, you need to read the paper now?" after receiving no positive response, "I will go get the paper for you Daddy. You need to read your paper now. Mommy, you come too. We need to make coffee." That brings us to 6:25 am, and I reluctantly crawl out of bed to prevent my 2-year-old from leaving the house unattended because by now he is downstairs with the front door open stepping out to get the paper. The rapid fire questions continue until around 11 am when he starts moving into the midday need to eat mass quantities and rest up for the afternoon session which lasts from 3 pm until 7 pm. I was not so conscious of the afternoon session until our drive home from Minneapolis when Christopher chatted for four hours nonstop. And in case you were wondering, his favorite question is, "Why?"
