Springtime!

Sorry for the lack of commentary on the blog these days. It's all I can do to get occasional pictures up here. Life is busy! We have had lots going on recently. The past two weekends were consumed with yard work. We had 10 cubic yards of mulch that we had to spread. The pile was the size of a sedan. Not only does mulching involve the act of spreading the mulch, but you have to weed everything first and I decided to move around a bunch of plants, too. Matt and I are still a little sore, but our yard looks beautiful!

Christopher is starting to require a little entertainment. I guess he thinks there is more to life than watching us all move about all day long. He amazes me all the time. His sleeping has been a little less than perfect recently, so I've been considering a sleep intervention. Well, that kid really knows how to take the wind out of our sails. Once I decided to try to do an intervention, he slept through the night without any intervening. I even had to give myself a little pep talk about the intervention before going to bed. All for not. We will see how things go tonight. The kicker is that instead of waking up in the middle of the night and sleeping in until 6, he slept through, but was up for the day at 5 am. I might take the middle of the night wake up instead. He still spits up a lot, too.

Daniel is so much fun these days. We certainly have our fair share of moments still, but now that I figured out that he gets really hungry at 5 pm, we are a little better off. We had a few weeks where all he did was cry and throw fits from 5 pm until dinnertime around 6 pm. He can be very dramatic and stubborn all at the same time. There was one day where you would have thought he was going to die if I did not give him oatmeal for dinner. Now we have a 5 pm snack and life is good. I do need to get out and buy a booster seat because Daniel has decided that he likes eating in a big boy chair. On the upside, he now gets his own silverware and bib and clears his place when he is finished. I owe daycare for that one.

There's lots more going on, but I thought you might enjoy a few little tidbits. Here is a movie from Daniel's swimming lesson today.

I love the video! He is such a good little swimmer, and I'm amazed at how long he stays under water. Can't wait to see you and Christopher over Memorial Day!
